Bert Enzlin (°2000) lives and works in Brussels.
Philosophical themes serve as the guiding principle in Enzlin's work. He explores the universe's origin and seeks answers to significant life questions, such as "why and how we ended up here," and the concept of identity—a quest that evolves into a seemingly obsessive and purposeless exploration. Drawing and the medium of photography enables him to transform his thoughts into something tangible and visual.
He strongly engages with mathematical theorems and concepts that delve so deep, that they become of a philosophical nature. Enzlin then interprets them in an artistic manner. These are weighty themes that he attempts to lighten through his playful approach to his work.
In doing so, he observes his surroundings and questions everything he sees in his reality from a critical perspective. New alternative realities come about, which he then presents as 'real.' The reproduction and interaction between these realities blur the line between reality and fiction, merging the two into a whole.
